" THE DAY OF YLS " WILL BE THE 3rd WEEKEND OF MAY, ON 21 AND 22 MAY 2011.

Dear all,

In May 2010, we had the idea of creating an international day of women radioamateurs. We consulted the various calendars of radioamateur of the world to find a date that would suit us at all, it was not easy...
The third weekend of May is the best date selected.

The success of this project depends on our participation in all, of course.
We will give you more details in a few days.

MIDWINTER QSO PARTY SUNDAY 9 JANUARY 2011

Dear all,

Hereby you are invited to take part in the Midwinter QSO party, organized every year by the Veron Traffic Buro. There are some important changes in the rules you need to read before taking part in the contest:

First the name changed from Midwintercontest to Midwinter QSO party, to emphasize the relaxed atmosphere of the contest. Second the day and time changed, CW and SSB are now both on Sunday from 10.00 to 14.00 UTC. There was too much interference with other contests on Saturday. Third change is we have added a new category in which YL's and OM's can compete: All Mixed. Last but not least the multipliers. No longer will the DXCC count, but the YL's count for multiplier! Every YL worked/heard may be logged twice per band, once in CW and once in SSB. The points count as normal, OM=3 points, YL=5 points, PI4YLC=15 points and counts once per band as multiplier.

Pse send me your log after the contest, preferably by e-mail in Cabrillo-format, although there is no software supporting the Midwinter QSO party at the moment. An Excel file will also do.

We hope you will have fun in the contest, good luck!

HELLO EVERYONE DE LISA PA2LS

Hello I'm Lisa.
I am currently 20 years old. I live in the city of Rotterdam where I study Industrial Product Design at university. The radioshack, I use is in QTH Waspik, the town where my parents live (my dad is also a ham : PE1KL), it is located in the southern part of the Netherlands. In my student home at Rotterdam isn't much space to place a radio or even an antenna ;)...
When I was just 13 year's old I passed the exam for the novice-license. Then I became PD2LLS. I passed my full-license exam when  I was 19 year's old. My call changed in PA2LS.
You can hear me in contests, in SSB, Digi-modes and in future also in CW (I am learning CW at the moment). I am also active with other events, like Jamboree on the air, clubstation fieldday, contest teams.

Hope to hear you on the air. 73&33 de Lisa
